Digi IoT Expertise in Cutting Edge Applications and Sponsorship Continues to Spark Innovation for the Internet of Things

With the theme of “Revolutionizing the Future of IoT,” Digi will be featured amongst many of the region’s leaders in innovation spanning advanced manufacturers, IoT specific software development, and the influential players in the cloud services industry.
 
Now in its third year as a platinum sponsor of IoT Fuse, Digi will lead a workshop leading up to the conference and host an educational session during the conference itself. Digi will also be exhibiting at the tradeshow at booth #202.
 
IoT Fuse Workshop:
Leading up to IoT Fuse, Cameron Haegle, Field Application Engineer – ARM Embedded at Digi International, will host the Voice Control for Industrial Applications workshop, on April 23 at 8:00 a.m. CDT in Terrance Murphy Hall, Room 421 at the University of St. Thomas, 46 S 11th Street, Minneapolis, MN 55403. During this workshop, Haegle will assist attendees in gaining a better understanding of how to build a cellular-enabled, voice-controlled IoT device as an example of how voice-controlled IoT devices could extend into a myriad of industrial applications including industrial, agricultural, or business operations. The focus of the workshop will be the use of an edge intelligent Digi XBee3® Cellular LTE-M cellular device with MicroPython programmability to enable a voice assistant-activated smart thermostat, as well as a brief discussion on LTE-M as compared to other cellular protocols. Additionally, participants will receive a Digi XBee3® Cellular LTE-M Development Kit with 30MB of data or six months of service.
 
IoT Sessions:
Scott Nelson, Chief Product Officer at Digi International, will present a session on April 25 at 11:00 am CDT in room 205 of the Minneapolis Convention Center. Titled “’Oh, it’s time to eat my cheese’: Why IoT is transforming user experience from situational awareness to behavioral performance,” the presentation will touch upon how IoT can be leveraged to transform user experience as IoT technology advances its value to the realm of behavioral optimization in industries from banking to retail, healthcare, manufacturing and beyond.
 
Harald Remmert, Director of Engineering at Digi International, will present a session titled, “5G Communications: Better, Stronger, Faster,” on April 25 at 3:15 p.m. CDT in room 202 of the Minneapolis Convention Center. The presentation will discuss where to start with 5G migration, which LTE path will provide the best results for specific applications and how to analyze the trade-offs in order to gain greater connectivity. Additionally, attendees will see some real-world applications at work.
